Frequently asked questions

Can I self-host WakeLink?
Partly. The relay server is source-available under the Business Source License 1.1 — you can read, audit and self-host it for development and testing, but production use is reserved to us until 1 January 2029, when it relicenses to Apache-2.0. The firmware, hardware design and wire protocol are open source (Apache-2.0).
What counts as an "agent"?
An agent is a physical ESP32 device running WakeLink firmware connected to your relay. Each agent can wake one or more machines on its local network.
Is my data private?
Yes. WakeLink uses a zero-knowledge relay — the server never decrypts your wake commands. All traffic is encrypted end-to-end with XChaCha20-Poly1305.
What payment methods do you accept?
Self-service card payments are not enabled yet. Contact [email protected] for current upgrade options.
Can I cancel anytime?
Contact [email protected] for subscription changes while self-service billing is unavailable.
Is yearly billing cheaper?
Yes. Paying yearly saves about 20% compared to monthly.
