FAQ

Short answers, with a link to the page that owns the detail.

Do I need to open a port on my router?

No. The agent opens one outbound WebSocket connection to the relay on port 443. Nothing connects in ( Architecture ).

How many computers can one agent wake?

As many as sit behind the same router; the packet is a broadcast on the LAN. The plan limits the number of agents, not of computers ( Plans ).

Can the relay read my commands?

It does not read them in transit: frames are encrypted between your client and the agent. It does store an encrypted copy of each agent's Aegis key when the client registers one, and so can decrypt the commands of its agents. On the hosted service that is the operator's promise; on your own relay it is you ( Security ).

Why can't the website wake my computer?

Waking needs the Aegis key and an Aegis session, which only the Android app and the CLI have. The website manages the account, agents and settings ( Architecture ).

Does the Telegram bot wake my computer?

No. It links Telegram to the account, issues password-reset codes, confirms logins and lists your agents. Wake commands come from the app or the CLI.

What does Free include?

One agent and 10 wakes a day. Pro has three agents and no daily cap ( Plans ). Prices and the state of card payments are on the Pricing page.

An ESP32 with 4 MB flash and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. The firmware builds for the esp32dev target (ESP32 Firmware).

Can I run it myself?

Yes: the relay, the site and the supporting services are Docker images with Compose files ( Self-Hosted Server ).

I lost my 2FA device. What now?

Write to support. An administrator resets your 2FA after checking it is you; you then sign in with the password only and set up 2FA again ( Sign-in ).

Which Android versions are supported?

Android 5.0 and newer ( Android App ).

Where do I report a bug or a vulnerability?

A bug: [email protected] or the component's repository at git.deadboizxc.org/wakelink. A vulnerability: only by email, never as a public issue ( Security ).
